Chiller
Smart fan control with custom curves.
FreePro upgrade $8.00
About
Take control of your Mac thermals with custom fan curves, per-sensor monitoring, and automatic profiles.
The standard Mac behavior for heat appears to be to let your processors get as hot as it can safely get, then hold it there while throttling tasks. While this keeps operation quiet, heavy workloads can get hot and slow fast.
Chiller was made as a simple solution for managing the fans during heavy workload, allowing you to set fan curves and change fan behavior based on running apps and/or time of day.
Never get throttled or burn your fingers again!
Chiller is free to use, but has a paid license that allows for preset editing and sharing, as well as the app and schedule based rule system.
Features
- Manual fan control for MacOS fans on Intel and Apple Silicon
- Fan curve with editor for Macs with 3 main presets (Silent, Balanced and Performance). Curve editing and preset import/export requires a license.
- App and schedule based rules to change presets as needed (requires license)
- Command line interface tool for monitoring temps and setting fan speeds from the CLI
- Built-in robust safety features (safe minimums, safety override over 90C, gives system back control if failures detected)
